Emergent Biotic Communities:Living Matter, Local Futures: Designing with Biotic Communities and Waste Unit 2 addresses the theme of collaboration through co-operation with other postgraduate courses within Central Saint Martins, in this specific year between the MA Biodesign and M-Arch Architecture courses. By working co-operatively with fellow students from parallel and contrasting courses, students experience at first hand the value of cross-disciplinary thinking and problem-solving that is central to the culture of Central Saint Martins. By exploring the potential of collaborative practice, Unit 2 engages with the ability to apply cross-disciplinary approaches through collective agency. It supports in building communities of practice across the college and allows you to explore interests that combine expertise, sources of knowledge and working methods beyond the single discipline or subject, with the larger aim of creating positive impact, based on a shared concern for common and shared well-being.
